Has there ever been a true champ of NCAA football?

This blogger says no, and as long as there is no playoff system in place, there never will be...

There have always been really good football teams left out in the cold, under the current system. This will continue if something does not change.

Ahhh but at last in 2009 some of these ''small schools'' forced the B.C.S. committee to consider them in the bcs rankings. It`s about time and this blogger hopes and prays that a few of these''small schools'', knock off the big guns that year in and year out always seem to be ranked high enough to weasel their way into the title game.

Look, it`s no big secret how certain teams always seem to be in line for a shot at the crown. Everyone knows its all about the money, it always has been. It`s this simple people.....There will never, nor has there ever been a true champ until a playoff system is in place!

Forget about computer, coaches, and AP polls. those things will only lead to more paper champs and paper in the pockets of the ones who were crazy enough to suggest, such a lame and underhanded money making scheme.

Right now there are 34 bowl games. Everyone of them makes a ton of money no matter what teams take the field. Here is this bloggers dream to resolve this and have a true champ when it`s all said and done.

You want rankings? fine keep your rankings, I will allow them in my dream...but let me just say this upfront...ranking are about as meaningless as any title game played thus far!

It`s simple really, take the top 2 teams from each conf. (Yes Notre Dame, to win a title you will have to join one.) put them all in a playoff bracket, the first round would be a conf championship round. Loser being done and the winner moving on, as in any single elimination tourney. until a champ is declared!! whats so hard about that?

Money you say...that is also simple...instead of just allowing 5 or 6 bowls to host the big games every year. how about rotating through all of them.."My gosh that was hard.."

Oh wait, these are just kids, and a playoff would just make them miss more school.

Wrong again....These are not "just kids" they are young adults and student athletes who travel and miss school under the current system, and still seem to maintain a high enough G.P.A. to keep playing. and the season does not really have to be that much longer,if at all...play the first couple of rounds on sat. and sun. WOW...now there is a concept, college football on sun? who would have ever thought it..O`wait I did..

Look...I don't claim to be the brightest bulb in the box. But enough is enough!!!!
